| SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., May 16
/PRNewswire/ -- Sensory Science Corporation (Amex: VCR) today announced it has commenced
shipping its new RaveMP 2200 portable digital media players to stores throughout North
America. The newest portable player in Sensory Science's line of Internet devices, the
RaveMP 2200 offers innovative feature enhancements including FM radio, USB connectivity,
built-in voice recorder, SmartMedia expansion capability, and up to 128MB storage
capacity, effectively raising the bar in the portable MP3 player market. With no moving
parts, users can enjoy skip-free, near CD quality sound in the palm of their hand. USB Interface Allows For Faster Downloads, FM Tuner With 20 Presets, SmartMedia Expansion One of the smallest portable digital media players available, the RaveMP 2200 carries 64MB of built-in memory and utilizes a SmartMedia(TM) expansion card slot capable of boosting the RaveMP 2200's memory up to 128MB. Users have the option of loading MP3 music or other data files onto either the 64MB of built-in memory or the SmartMedia expansion card using the intuitive RaveMP 2200 Digital Media Manager software. SmartMedia expansion cards are currently available in 16MB, 32MB, and 64MB varieties, and are compatible with other electronic devices that use this memory format. The RaveMP 2200 sports a built-in FM radio allowing users to program up to 20 channel presets accessible at the touch of a button. FM channel presets can be conveniently programmed on the unit itself as well as through the Digital Media Manager software. The RaveMP 2200 easily connects to the PC through the USB (universal serial bus) interface, capable of download speeds up to five times faster than parallel port connections. This advanced connectivity promotes ease-of-use in both the set-up and daily operation of the RaveMP 2200 for a seamless user experience in today's plug-and-play world. Simply attach the included USB cable to the RaveMP 2200 and plug it into the computer. The Digital Media Manager software takes care of the rest. ``Our innovative feature combinations continue to propel Sensory Science to the top of the portable MP3 player market and add significant value over competing portable devices,'' said Ralph F. Palaia, Sensory Science's senior vice president of marketing and sales. ``Sensory Science pioneered the inclusion of PDA features in portable digital media players, and we continue to enhance the user experience with the addition of intuitive features that users quickly realize they can't live without. We're excited to add the RaveMP 2200 to our growing line of Internet devices, and we expect this product category to develop rapidly as we continue our company focus on today's digital marketplace.'' In-Line Remote Adds Functionality To Users On-The-Go, Additional PDA Features Include Voice Recording, Phone Number and Memo Storage The RaveMP 2200 earbuds are equipped with an innovative in-line remote with seven features, enhancing the experience for active Internet music lovers. Users can toggle between MP3 music and the FM radio, as well as control main functions including play/pause and volume. A hold button can prevent other functions from being activated while the remote is in use. The RaveMP 2200 includes many of today's advanced PDA features, including four hours of voice recording through the built-in microphone, and is SDMI compliant. Users can store up to 128,000 telephone numbers in 16 folders for easy access, as well as text and other data files. When the personal contact management functions are activated, the basic unit has the capacity to simultaneously store a multitude of information such as 60 minutes of music, 1,000 phone numbers, 20 pages of notes and 10 minutes of voice memos, or other combinations. Unique styling and a shock-free aluminum case make the RaveMP 2200 a sleek, durable entertainment device, and five equalizer modes allow for enhanced sound quality for different music styles. Each unit needs only one AA battery that lasts for up to ten hours of continuous play. MusicMatch Jukebox(TM) Software and Free Tracks From Emusic.com Bundled With RaveMP 2200 Sensory Science has teamed with MusicMatch and EMusic.com to support the launch of the RaveMP 2200. MusicMatch Jukebox 5.0 software bundled with the unit enables RaveMP users to create extensive libraries of CD-quality music digitally recorded from their own personal CD, vinyl and cassette tape collections, as well as music downloaded from the Internet. In addition, each unit includes free music tracks from EMusic.com. The new model reflects Sensory Science's commitment to deliver the most advanced Internet media players, and with its industry-leading position in the marketplace, the company is aggressively continuing its development of additional devices that will set new standards for functionality and performance, including the RaveMP 2300 that utilizes Iomega's clik! drive technology, slated for introduction this summer.
