Lake Technology delivers 500 Clair iO units |
| This April and May, hundreds
of thousands of fans will hear Paul McCartney perform live on his first tour in nearly 10
years. And every note they hear will demonstrate the latest advances in live sound,
courtesy of the Clair iO, a new DSP loudspeaker controller developed by Lake Technology
Limited (ASX:LAK). During March and April 2002 Lake will deliver 500 units of the Clair iO to Clair Bros Audio Enterprises, arguably the largest live music sound company in the world. This is the first shipment under the volume purchase agreement signed by Clair Bros and Lake in February 2001. Chris Gilbey, CEO of Lake Technology, commented, The shipment of 500 units of the Clair iO reflects the tremendous commitment by our engineers to deliver a revolutionary new product on time and on budget. This will contribute significantly to Lakes revenues this year and to building Lakes reputation globally as a leading player in audio technologies. The iOs design team was led by Bruce Jackson, VP of Product Development for Lake Technology and ex-sound engineer for artists as diverse as Elvis Presley and Bruce Springsteen. This technology will soon be on the road with some of the biggest names in the music world, including NSync, Elton John, Billy Joel, Willie Nelson and Alan Jackson. The loudspeaker controller developed by Lake Technology allows live sound engineers to control all the parameters of a large-scale live concert sound system and improve sound quality for every seat in the house. Until now, this level of custom enhancement represented an almost insurmountable challenge for sound engineers. Troy Clair, Vice President and Co-Owner of Clair Brothers noted, Reliability and technical leadership are crucial in concert sound production. Our sound engineers see a different venue each night, each with its own set of acoustic challenges. The iOs groundbreaking technology lets us provide our clients with unmatched sound quality. Lake has impressed us by helping us impress our clients! The iOs innovative design extends to the way the processor receives commands. It is unique in its wireless capacity using a touch screen control panel, sound engineers can easily move around a stadium or arena, hear exactly what the audience will experience in each location and make appropriate adjustments on the spot. Chris Gilbey highlighted the opportunities now available to Lake, The iO is a highly complex piece of electronic hardware coupled with equally complex software. Its development provides Lake with the opportunity to create an exciting new suite of platform based products, which will flow out of the knowledge and unique intellectual property developed through building the iO. |
