The irock! 300W links MP3, CD and tape players to any FM radio receiver wirelessly, allowing users to play their music anywhere |
| CHICAGO, April 1
/PRNewswire/ -- First International Digital, Inc. (FID), a Motorola spin-off and maker of
the popular irock! 500 and 600 series MP3 players, today introduced a new wireless music
adapter that links portable music devices to any car or home stereo. Priced at only
$29.99, this inexpensive, easy to use accessory enables any MP3, CD or tape player to
broadcast to a nearby car or home stereo system without cables or wires, with full stereo
sound and no hassles. Tangled wires and clumsy cassette adapters will soon become history.
``In an effort to provide superior performance to current digital or cassette music players, FID now delivers a wireless music adapter that allows mobile users to take their music even further,'' said Randy Cavaiani, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for FID. ``Using the irock! 300W, users can now beam their favorite tunes to any stereo from their portable players quickly and easily.'' The irock! 300W is an FM modulator that wirelessly transmits its signal on one of four FM frequencies. By simply plugging the 300W into the headphone jack of a portable music device, selecting a frequency on the adapter and tuning the stereo to 88.1, 88.3, 88.5 or 88.7 FM, users get instant playback of their favorite tunes on any stereo system. The 300W takes over one of those frequencies and without interference transmits the music to a car radio or home stereo. The 300W's operating range (limited by FCC regulations) is 10-30 feet depending upon environmental conditions and the quality of the FM radio receiver. The light (2.5 oz.), small (2``x 3''x 1``), portable irock! 300W is powered by two AAA batteries, has a simple on-off switch on the front, and a red LED that lights up when the unit is on. It has a 6' flexible antenna that terminates in a mini-jack that is plugged into the headphone jack of any portable audio player. The antenna stores into the irock! 300W so the plug is protected when not in use. The irock! 300W wireless music adapter is available now at North American retail outlets including CompUSA, Fry's Electronics, London Drugs, and RadioShack, for an estimated retail price of only $29.99. The 300W can also be purchased directly from FID at www.myirock.com or in the consumer products store at Motorola's Web site, www.motorola.com.
