Sanyo Corp, a world leader in electronics will collaborate in developing a complete MP3CD
player reference solution. Sanyo will contribute their CD system expertise &
semiconductor experience with their LC78683E CD/MP3 decoder while QPICT will provide
integrated software solution. The reference application solution is scheduled for release
Q2/01 and will be available from either party. The design will be licensed to OEM
customers. The Reference design will include a complete software suite to support CD content navigation, MP3 and CDDA identification, extraction of right management data, screening, Meta-data recovery, which will be matched to Sanyo CD chip set & mechanisms. Features of the Software package being developed by QPICT, Inc include embedded CD Checker for copyright information and management, extraction of embedded metadata to allow for a song database to be created, a comprehensive navigation system which will allow users to create play list. The LC78683E is a low power hardwired structure CD Rom Decoder to decompress CD-Rom format Data into MP3 data for CD Portable audio applications. Additional features include Anti-Shock and built-in Base Boost. QPICT, Inc currently develops a complete Audio Recorder Solution, which is SCMS complaint, have an embedded Digital Right Management solutions as well as being programmable for multiple Audio Codecs. Both companies are active participants in SDMI - Secure Digital Music Initiative.
